Aachen is located in the burrow corner between Belgium and the Netherlands and is the westernmost city of Germany with over 240,000 inhabitants. Tradition and progress combine in Aachen: Firstly, the history of the city, which is excellently represented by the Aachen Cathedral and in whose 1200 years of history, not only left Charles of great traces. On the other hand, science and research at RWTH Aachen, which is one of the largest and most traditional technical universities in Europe with over 40,000 students. Many events are offered in the city center of Aachen over the year, e.g. in September a handicraft market and in winter one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Europe, which extends through the narrow old town along the enchanting half -timbered houses.
